Numbers 14:5-19

"The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation."

- Numbers 14:18

I believe one of the most amazing scriptures in the Bible is vs 18 out of Numbers chapter 14. So many people have misconceptions about God's judgement. He is not waiting for us to mess up so that He can punish us. Instead he uses all things, both good and bad, to point us to him. I am so thankful that he is slow to anger and abounding in faithful love. But I am also thankful that he doesn't let his children go unpunished. All things, even God's punishment, helps to strengthen our personal relationship with him and bring him glory.

God give me strength to see past my circumstances and troubles that make me choose disobedience. Give me the courage to choose faithfulness and trust even when the enemy is trying to, "take me out."

Father, when my attitude is only about defeat please remind me of your love and faithfulness. Help me to see beyond the schemes of the enemy so that I can see your glory. Thank you for loving me and making a way when there doesn't seem to be a way.
